Hi Eli

Thank you for sharing this topic. I drink Kefir and love it. I think this tea sounds great if you are allergic to yeast. Some people are allergic to the good yeast. Taking a good probiotic helps. Look at the supplement section. I posted a bunch of info on probiotics~Risa

Hi Risa, thanks for your reply. I have heard of Kefir before, but i'm not exactly sure what it is. I'm guessing its something similar to the Kombucha extract.

Would you know if any of these are approp for my 15month old daughter. I sent the company an email, outlining my ques/concerns but tthey havn't responded as yet.

Thanks for any help/suggestions

Hi Eli
From what I read about kombucha it sounds like an herb extract. I would not give your baby this. Perhaps when he or she gets older. Kefir taste very similar to yougurt. I try to keep my dairy down to a minimum and kefir and yougurt are what I take.

STick to the basics with babies. If you can give her her vitamins and enzymes that would be great. I think that herbs work really well but in babies, I have no clue. The only one I would talk to is an alternative doctor who really knows his stuff and my child would have to be so sick to even try something. Herbs are so powerful. You have no idea what impact they will have on your child. Hopefully goog but this is a big risk in my opinion.

I am reading how important calcium supplements are for the bowels. I always have taken my calcium supplements and always had a good stomach. Since I started Kefir, I stopped my cal and mag for a few weeks and my stomach became a little bloated. I started back on my supplements and back to a flat tummy. The calcium helps to absorb acids and acids can breed yeast leaving your tummy distended. I believe this could really be a problem for us.

Getting the right Calcium supplement is important. I take calcium lactate by standard process.

I hope you find your answer

I drink Kombucha and it tastes knarley. I get it at Whole Foods Market, and I try different flavors from Original to gingerBlueberry, and Citrus. The fruit ones tast a bit better. But it is like Club Soda with a touch of vinegar. Wierd! But I think it works. At least I do get the vitamin B charge from it.

Try it.
