ANYONE live/lived in Las Vegas?

Hello.

I am looking for anyone who has visited the ADULT Cf clinic in Las Vegas to please share their experiences with it. I recently moved here, and after one visit to that clinic, I was completely turned off. I never wanted to go back... Now, I feel I'm doing myself a disservice not having a Cf doc in town.

I'm also looking for a good OB/GYN in Las Vegas to help me if/when I become pregnant and for other women issues. Does anyone know of a good OB/GYN in the area?

I would be forever greatful to anyone who can give me some info. on this.

<FONT color=#008000 size=3><STRONG>Sonia,I lived in Las Vegas from 1999 to 2000.  I can not help you as far as giving you a specific doc to go to, but I can tell you I was quite unpleased with the whole medical field out there.  You would think it would be great with so many choices, but I never really found a good doc out there.Try in Henderson.  It is not to far away and it seems to be a little "higher class" than Vegas.We were only there for a year and got fed up and moved.  We lived in Summerlin and I thought it was going to be GREAT to live there.  I was quite unsatisfied with the schools and the community.Good luck!Seana</STRONG></FONT>

I was always informed that the Cf patiens in Vegas prefered go to the intermountain CF center in Salt lake city, Ut. At the Univ of Utah.

That's where I've been going, but its 400 miles one way! So, I'm just looking at my options. I'm REALLY hoping to at the very least find an ob/gyn here that I can trust. I would be more than willing to drive to Henderson too.... I just need someone in the vicinity.

Anyone?????

I used to live in Henderson Nevade a while ago...but I recently heard that the CF specialist that i had died so I was very sad to hear that since he was a really good doctor...i dont know who is there now so i cannot reccomend going there....but when i did the whole staff was pretty nice

Could your family recommend any OB/GYN in the Henderson/Vegas area?
I do go to U of U right now for a diabetes study, so have also had them follow my CF care. I LOVE them! I just wish they weren't so far... and, if I get pregnant, it will be even tougher.

I have a friend with CF who lives in Vegas...He feels the same way as you, and is very disappointed in the care he has received there in the past. He drives to the Salt Lake City clinic and also gets his cleanouts there. sorry

I will probably just continue going to salt lake. i really like them there. i just hope they can coordinate home health here for when i need a tune-up.... i always do them at home.
i'm thinking i'll probably just go to the air force base here since it sounds like the medical care (in ALL fields) is pretty bad. i really wish there would be a good off-base ob/gyn though. the base is far from me. i just can't imagine that an entire city of 1/2 million people doesn't have one good doc!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
