I want to try the Avent sterilizer, but I manage to warp/melt nebs all the time! I had the microwave one and melted the cup...boiled one and it melted!!
1.What exactly are you putting in it? We use the ned cup with the little blue insert...I think it is a sidesteam??
2. Do you put your masks in it...we have the dinosaur and bubbles masks. Will they melt??

HELP!!?? Thanks so much....I learn so much from y'all!!

Hi, the mask will definately melt...we did a wonderful job on the fish mask !! We use the microwave Avent sterilizer for the nebs "stuff", but we use the regular slightly harder plastic face mask for our 2 year old as I kept destroying the fish etc ones...we did try doing an aerochamber in there too, but that came out looking totally destroyed !!

I melted tooo many nebs and masks using our advent microwave sterilizer. Some microwaves are more powerful than others.

We have a dishwasher with a sterilize option, we run our nebs in a basket on that option. Our masks, nebs, and aerochamber always come out great!!

Some neb cups are not able to be boiled...I melted ours from the hospital too (not sure what kind they were, it came with a turtle mask for infants)! We use the PARI neb cups now, which are usually recommended...especially for TOBI. These do not melt when boiled. I am not sure how you are supposed to sterilize the other ones.
I have been using a dif one for my 4 year old, it has a blue insert...we boil that one, not sure what kind it it...think it is a sidestream though. As soon as I get another shipment of neb meds w/ our free PARI neb kit from CF Services Pharmacy, we are going to switch her back to the PARI neb cups as well.
Sorry, I have no experience with the sterilizer though, would like to get one soon.
