After having a baby my cervix hasn't closed up all the way. Actually to be honest the first I heard about this was 18 months after I had a baby so I am not sure it is related to having had a baby.
My gyno says this is unusual and thinks it may be my body's way of letting cervical mucus pass. She has examined me at different points of my cycle to see if it was only phase related and she said it was ajar each time. Sometimes with a mucus plug in place. It's wide enough that at certain times of my cycle my husband hits my IUD string. She informed me that it isn't the string most likely but the actual IUD as his penis passes into my cervix. Hey maybe this is what helped me get knocked up so fast
Luckily we have confirmed that it is closed enough to keep my IUD in place.
