Apria Healthcare

i, too, have had bad experiences with Apria. in their defense, when i used them many years ago, they were always competent. i wanted to order a specific nebulizer from them -- Pari Ultra II pediatric (green!). i called them and they assured me i could get one that day if i went and picked it up. well, i drove way across town and of course not only do they not have the green one, they don't have the regular Ultra II either! instead they had a devilbiss or something that they would sell me for $200-$300. (i'm paying out of pocket so i'm thinking this is way too much!)

anyway, i just feel like they were half-assed and dicked me around. if they had been more competant, it would have saved me a trip out there. i ended up ordering from this company online and they were really great. and they didn't give me a hard time about wanting the green one whereas Apria had been like, "they're the exact same!" uh...no they're not, one's green dummy.

since then, i've tried NOT to order all my stuff that i once got from there. i have this freedom since i pay out of pocket for most of this stuff. so i can see it would be a real hassle if my insurance forced me to use them.

good luck to you.

Thank you for everyone's comments. My boyfriend ordered me an Ultra II from Allergy Asthma Tech (I LOVE THEM) and they are sending it to me Next Day Air. I have to pay out of pocket, but I don't care. I'm never dealing with Apria again. Period.

I will only accept the Ultra II because I know that it will correctly nebulize Tobi and Pulmozyme, and the treatment time is quick. It's the one that I like, the one that I need, so I'm not going to settle for anything else.

I will have to call and get my co-pay back from Cigna, but that's something else all together.

As for filters, to answer Ratatosk's question - I don't think they are the same. I ordered some that were supposed to be for Ultra II, but I think they were for Ultra II and seemed completely different?? SO I think they are not the same. Not sure what everyone else thinks about that.

I did report them to BBB... Who knows if anything will come of it, but at least I feel like I did do SOMETHING about it.

Yeah, I agree with Laura - Green doesn't mean the same... It's green! Which matters to us! Just like not all compressors are the same. Should I really explain this to the guy who shouldn't even be working in a med equipment industry to begin with? It would be a waste of breath.

I did find a pari you tube video online that showed how to put the filters in and they're apparently the same. It's just easier to get them in and out because you use a coin to access the front panel. I haven't tried because we just got the pari a month or so ago for use as a spare.
