My two cousins both have CF and they have I think 3 parakeats(sorry about the spelling). They don't seem to have any problems with them.

We recently obtained 2 parakeets although I truly wanted a cockatoo. I just wasnt willing to spend the $$. The events leading up to our desire included caring for an injured, wild, baby bird which was a terrific experience even tho it died. Birds can carry certain bacterias, but as a rule (unless they are actually sick when you get them) they are no more harmful then cats/dogs. I would be more concerned about the "dander" & allergies. Honestly I cant tell any difference from my cat, dog or birds so it doesnt bother me. Of course the cleaning of the cages etc is a pain since they are more pigs then birds & of course making sure all the bird poop is gone. I say go for it. I truly enjoy the birds we have, Skye & Bush! By the way they are actually my daughters, but as usual I resisted & then fell for them.
