I cant stand them because when i am in or near too much steam and humidity i feel like i cant breathe. I hate to even take a hot shower because of the amount of steam. I would also imagine there would be loads of bacteria in a steam room that could be harmful to cf lungs. BUT on the other hand i could see where steam could be helpful to getting secretions in the lungs up. I dont know

That's kind of hard to answer. My doctor encourages long steamy showers but not spending time in a steam room or a sauna. It has to do with the fact that you know how clean your shower is and you don't know how clean steam rooms and saunas are.

Me personally, I wouldn't go near them with a 100' pole.

For the same reasons I will NEVER go in a hot tub or jacuzzi again. MAC, also known as 'hot tub lung' loves hot steamy, water environments. After surviving one bad round of MAC, I do everything I can to avoid situations where that deadly cootie grows.
