People keep telling me that once you have a child you are more likley to become pregnant eaiser then before. Does anyone know if this is true? With my blood problems I can only take the depo shot which has had me gain 19lbs in 6 months, or the mirana which has bad weight problems too. Or become sterlized. Im not sure if Im ready to shut the door on kids in the future. 10-1 I will never try to have another kid but having the surgery shuts that door. I kind of want to go back to like I was doing for the first 4 years of my marriage, no birth control. Or something for him. But what do you all think?

What about a copper IUD? I don't have time to write more but I sympathize. My DH wants a vasectomy but I'm not ready to shut the door like you say. I 99% sure I don't want any more but I don't want to say 100% no.

Well that wasn't the case for me. It took me a year to get pregnant the 2nd time, whereas the first time it took 2 tries.
But I would not rely on infertility or any such thing to avoid pregnancy.
I'm sure you've gone over all your options, but have you looked into the nuvaring. I couldn't take most BC's because of the antibiotic interference issue, and my only options were the deposhot (which I agree, was absolutely horrible), then the nuvaring came out and it was the great.
After having my daughter I needed BC, but didn't want to shut any doors either. We did condoms for 1.5 yrs. Of course my hubby didn't love them, but we got used to them, until we decided what we wanted to do long term. Maybe using them could buy you some time.
