I am currently doing a round of IV's (vanco and merrem) at home. Here's the issue....my port line goes up through my neck and the last couple of days my muscles there have been very tight (making it difficult to push things quickly through the line). I know that it is not blocked-I get a blood return. Granted, my line is being used a lot-I am hooked up around 9 hrs a day-so it may just be par for the course.

Any suggestions for getting those muscles to calm down. You know, like standing on your head, sticking a leg up in the air, holding your tongue just right! :)

i have a lot of problems with my neck. Moist heat, gentle stretches and massage help me the most. I'd be careful with heat around the port, though. i know you're miserable! hope you feel better soon!
