Ashton getting yucky again

Well we have been home since tuesday afternoon doing nebs 4 times a day... AM albuterol CPT TOBI, 2 during the day of albuterol and CPT, then the night on of Albuterol CPT pulmozyme and TOBI... Last night and during his nap today he did nothing but cough until he got into deep sleep.... He gets to coughing really bad also... i know that i need to call the Dr again but i hate to because he is on his 2nd day of steroids and im hoping that it willg et better... i know that he is supposed to cough its better to get it out.. but the dr told me that his cough should be subtle if any not a choking cough... UGHHHHHHHHHHHH THIS SUCKS!!! sorry more of just a rant.. well im going to go ive got ad shopping to do for 5AM tomorrow morning... then i guess ill call the DR if he is still doing it.. AND to top it off my birthday is tomorrow and we are supposed to go out saturday for it.. its like the one night you plan to have peace i might not get to go if hes put back in the club.....

Oh Christi, I'm so sorry to hear that. I know that every cough I've heard today has made me want to cry thinking it puts us one day closer to hospitalization -- I'm sure you are feeling the same way. CHRISTI, I'm sorry for all you and ashton are going through right now, and that you are having to worry like this. What a scarry thing when the child you love is sick. I hope he gets better soon. Have a good birthday, anyway.

So sorry to hear your little guy can't quit coughing. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> That is so frustrating & scary at times.

Something that ended up helping my son when he couldn't sleep through the night was nebulized Xopenex. He was just using his Albuterol puffer before treatments, but the Xopenex nebulized really helped clear him up. I'm not saying this is what he needs, but I've noticed much shorter coughing episodes now that he's on this vs. Albut. puffer - maybe ask your clinic what they think about this? Not trying to give medical advice! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Christi, For me sometimes, doing Tobi makes me cough harder, it kind of dries my throat out, and I get a choking cough.... I don't know if Ashton has been on Tobi before or not, but just wondering if maybe one of the nebbed meds is causing the cough..

I don't know maybe I am just grasping at straws... I just can't imagine a rebound cough that fast... I hope not, but either way you will be in my prayers..

I hope your shopping day was a huge success, and that Ashton is feeling well enough so you can go out tomorrow night for your big date..
