My daughter is 12 and in CF diagnostic limbo for 18 months. I have CF. Her PFTs 18 months ago were FEV1 55% and FEF 25-75 was 28%. A year later her FEV1 was 111% and her FEF 25-75 was 115% thanks to teh best doctor and to her vest and hypersal and antibiotics. However, at her clinic appointment last week her FEV1 was 101% and FEF 25-75 was 97%. I realize these are still great numbers, but they were a decrease from the highest we got her numbers up to.
Meanwhile, she attends the CF clinic last week and her sputum culture showed Aspergillus. Her IgE level was checked 18 months ago when her diagnostic process was restarted by her current pulmonologist. At that time it was low normal. Previously we were told by scratch test that she was a level 4 on mold and allergic to almost everything else on the scratch test. The allergy testing is confusing to me.
Should her IgE level be retested?
Thanks for your input.
