I have recently learned that distilled water may contain B. Cepacia. I would strongly recommend NOT using distilled water at all. Here is an article from 2005 mentioning B. Cepacia in distilled water:<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.ashp.org/import/News/HealthSystemPharmacyNews/newsarticle.aspx?id=1761

Thank you.

So you are aware, there are periodic recalls of all kids of products due to b. cepacia, it is just so common in the environment.

I'm not aware of any current concerns on distilled water, but it doesn't hurt anyone to keep their eyes open.

You're welcome Tom. I have written on the B. Cepacia contamination of Distilled Water before and thought it would be a good time to bring it up again. I just want everyone to be as informed as possible. As for me, I boil the heck out of purified water when I clean my nebs just to be on the safe side. I avoid the water vapors when boiling just to be on the safe side, just in case their are pathogens in the vapors.

I think we tend to get lax on remembering what can be contaminated. For the general public its not as big of an issue, but we know what it can do to us.

ANY education regarding it is good!

Even if its outdated warnings.....it still reminds people to have a heads up on things!
