That was very helpful information! I learned more from you in that post then any doctor on the subject matter.

Iam copying the post to have it on hand. THANKS for the information.

Lauren always has lots of information! She's one of my favorite sources on here.

Check out <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://understandingcysticfibrosis.blogspot.com">Lauren's blog</a> for more. She has another blog, too, that is similar to her one here.

Cepacia is the one to avoid. I caught it this yr (from a friend with cf) and it has lowered my pfts 30% In six months. Just be careful who she hangs out with, and wash hand a lot!

To the original poster: Since no one has said it yet, I will be the jerk who points out that trying to avoid getting a certain bacteria is admirable but futile. Of course do the things that make sense to not contract any kind of germs - instill good hand washing practices with your daughter, try not to let her put things into her mouth, try to make her aware that touching her face is an easy way to contract something, don't let her hang around sick people. But don't not let her live life.

That being said, I have cultured cepacia genomovar ii for as long as I can remember. It is currently much more sensitive to antibiotics than my pseudomonus.

Good luck!
