I am sure you will hear all sorts of different experiences from women who have cf and have given birth. I have had 3 children. I delivered my first at age 27, my second at age 29 and my third at 32. Before I had my children I had already had 1/2 of my left lung removed at age nineteen due to chronic hemoptysis. All three pregnancies went very well. I did have one significant bleed from my lung when I was 6 weeks pregnant with my first (very scary to say the least) but then nothing afterwards for the rest of the pregnancy or during the other two pregnancies. They are active children and have kept my husband and I busy over the years. For me pregnancy has not been detrimental to my health.

I hope everything works out just the way you want. <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

As long as your weight is up to par, and you can manage daily tasks without needing oxygen or anything, having a child should be no problem.

I am 23, and have a beautiful almost 3 year old little girl. She has been tested for CF and tested negative.

Before I found out that I had gotten pregnant, she wasn't a planned Child, I wouldn't say I was in the best of health. I had been smoking and all kinds of stuff that I definately should not have been doing. I stopped smoking when I found out.
Through my pregnancy I was the healthiest I had been since I was 14. I got pregnant at 20 and had her at 21.

Anyhow if you want a child don't let the fact that you have CF stop you.
