If both parents have CF: all children will have CF (100% chance)
The CF parent will always give an unhealthy CF gene
We get 1 gene from each parent. Both parents give an unhealthy gene and and child gets 2 cf genes.
If 1 parent has cf and 1 parent is a carrier: %50 odds of CF
The CF parent will always give an unhealthy CF gene
The CF carrier will give EITHER an unhealthy CF gene OR a healthy gene
1 gene from each parents gives only 2 possible combinations: 2 unhealthy gene = CF OR 1 unhealthy gene +1 healthy gene = No CF
If 1 parent has cf and 1 parent is NOT a carrier: 0% chance of having CF
Regardless of the fact that the CF parent always gives an unhealthy CF gene, the NonCarrier Non CF parent will give a healthy gene
Because the healthy gene is dominant (overpowers the recessive CF gene) no children will have CF. They will however ALL be carriers of the unhealthy CF gene.
