My really good friend from JR high is having her first baby (yeahhhhh!!! I'm not the only one anymore

I asked her what she REALLY wants for the baby, and this is what she said:
There is one thing that I really want for the baby... It's a cloth wrap you wrap around your body that make the baby really close to you and feel like it's in the womb. I forget what it's called and they're hard to find but I'll let you know if I find out =)

Any of you have any names of what it might be? I was thinking if I ask her, "was it this", "is it called that"... that she might remember. I really want to get it for her. any ideas?

I have these two carriers: www.babyhawk.com and www.gypsymama.com. The gypsy mama wrap is s lot like what your freind is describing. I LOVE mine - you can wear it an endless amount of ways, it's beautiful and COMFORTABLE! But, it does have a learning curve assosciated with it. I can do most of the carries now easily, but I did have ot learn them and it can take a minute to put it on, nevertheless, I think it is the most comfortbale thing, and I still use it with the baby at age 1. The baby hawk is a mei tei which can be used for front and back carry and is also very comfortbale and quicker to get into, but not as "womb like" as a wrap. I did use it with Marlee starting at about 1 month old and I also still use it to carry her.
you might also check out maya wraps and I know Caroline (keepercjr) sells hotslings.
Stay away from the baby bjorns carriers as they are sorta rough on baby's spine. Let us know what you pick out!

The Moby Wrap? Several sites say it reminds baby of being in the womb.
