I went to the endo today (and of course, my blood sugars are starting to settle down now- I had a low after lunch while I was there ), and he was going to start me on the short acting insulin. We discussed it a little further, and I told him that I am a big "grazer". I asked if I could try one shot of Humalog Mix 75/25 (the pen) and see what happens, since breakfast is my "toughest" meal to get under 200, and the longer the day goes, the better my bloodsugars are, and my fasting bs is fine. He said we could try- I so appreciate a doctor who will listen to my concerns and give things a try, (if for no other reason than to make "google the tar out of the subject" me feel better,- you know what they say about a "little knowledge", lol ) .
Any prayers that this will work would be greatly appreciated , as well as any advice, since this is my first attempt at using insulin. I did the "dummy shot" today, and I am so thrilled- it really was "nothing!"
Thanks everybody!
