Best kid ever

my little sister wrote this to describe her on her myspace page and i thought i should share.
My sister is 18 and has cystic fibrosis ( as does my 20 year old brother) ...but in spite of her illness she is one of the most positive people i've ever met. notice she only mentions her cf as a foot note..... i think her message is a good one. yeah, your treatments and hospital visits take up alot of time. But have a rad rest of your day <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My name is Addie Carol Behm. My middle name is my grandma's and who knows where my parents got Addie from... but I like it. My daddy calls me Delmar, my Bestest calls me Flower Child, and my loves call me anything from Cherry to Peehead. I am the middle child of seven children, and I love my family. I love my friends. My bestest friends are Taryn and Johnathan. I go to school in Hawaii at UH Manoa, and I love it. I love all the people I've met here and I love that I'm so close to my Auntie Ali, Uncle Bert, and my cousins. Going to the beach is one of my favorite things to do... if I didn't have class everyday I would be there from sun up to sundown. I love to laugh. If you don't already know that, you don't know me. I have a bajillion cousins and the greatest grandparents anyone could ever ask for. I was born and raised in California and I lived in the same house for my entire life. I love animals. Back home I have two horses, three dogs, too many cats, a goat, and a turtle. And kids... I love them. Before I came to Hawaii I worked at two separate nurseries on Saturdays and Sundays. I miss my babies! When I grow up I want to be a mommy. I have Cystic Fibrosis, and so does my big brother Zachary. We have to go into separate rooms at our checkups with the doctor because we laugh too much when we're together. :) I love life.
Disneyland is my second home.

You sound like a wonderful little person. It is really important to continue your attitude and focus on life!.......PLEASE STAY POSITIVE! (it can keep you healthy you know!) Your message here has just given me so much hope about my little cutie pie 4 yr old. He was just diagnosed with CF. He is dying to have a kitty........we have not given him one because we are worried that it will cause him breathing problems. Do YOU have a opinion for me? YES OR NO on the kitty?

I'm not Addie, but i would say YES to a kitty! I have CF and have always had household pets. My cat sleeps in my bed with me when I'm home. The animals have never caused me a problem. In fact, a lot of research (though non-CF related of what i've heard of) suggests that household pets help kids build up immunities so they are less likely to develop allergies later on! Plus, animals are great for morale :)

In fact, a lot of research (though non-CF related of what i've heard of) suggests that household pets help kids build up immunities so they are less likely to develop allergies later on! Plus, animals are great for morale :)
