Best time to take a pregnancy test?

OK... I have been trying to figure out today when the best time of day is to take a pregnancy test and I'm totally confused. The recommendation is to use first morning urine, but it seems like that's based on the assumption that you aren't urinating (or not often) in the night. Well... I regularly get up at LEAST 2x in a night to pee! So I'm wondering - would I get a better test result using first morning urine, or would I get a better test result if I did it sometime during the middle of the day after "holding it" for a few hours?

I figured you brilliant and talented ladies could probably help me out!

For a background, for those who don't remember my one whole post a few months ago (I have been lurking a lot but not posting!) - my husband's 32 mutation panel just came back negative recently, which was our green light for TTC. So I am a little new at this!

Hi Cindy,

They say to use first morning urine because it's usually your most concentrated because you typically aren't drinking much (or at all) during the night. First morning is usually your best bet for the test to pick anything up, especially if it's early to be taking a pregnancy test. You can take it later on during the day, but just make sure you haven't just chugged a bunch of water or anything. My fertility clinic always told me to just use the first morning urine cause then you don't have to worry about it. I hope that makes sense cause I just rambled.

Good luck!!!
