birds

I think they are talking about pet birds. I've always been told birds are not good for CFers. They carry tons of bacteria, and their poop can become airborne particles which, when inhaled, are very bad for CFers. I don't know anything else about them, but I do know I've been told to avoid birds my whole life

birds are fine. reptiles are fine. unless you are rubbing your face on these types on animals then there is nothing to worry about. keep them clean [and keep yourself clean for that matter], keep them outside and everyone will be fine. id be more worried about what the local park and kitchen bench has in store for peoples health. doctors who tell patients and parents that they cant even have a pet rock obviously dont have a life outside their desk/room.

When I tried to post this message the first time I was denied because of certain bird names that the server doesn't like.
So where the words cck exist, there is supposed to be a "o" between the c's!

Many years ago I was breeding small parrots.
All birds produce a fine dust from their feathers.
A few kinds of birds are more problematic for airways than others.
I believe cckatiels and cckatoos both produce a great deal more of this dust than other birds.
The drying fecal matter that can get in the air is also a big concern!
Before I began breeding birds I was healthier. One thing I did to keep myself healthier was to isolate the birds in a room from my central air system. The room still received fresh air, but no air from the room was returned to any where else in the house.
