birth control pills and advair

I heard that if you take birth control (such as Yaz as I'm taking) and a steroid (like advair) then the birth control pill doesn't prevent you from getting pregnant but just helps your cycle be normal. Has anyone else heard that or know if its true?

i've heard that some antibiotics can do that... maybe steroids have the same affect but if you are inhaling advair into your lungs, I don't see how much of it could be circulated to affect your reproductive system? i'd look it up online or ask a doctor

I have heard that abx can do the same thing. I dont know about steroids, but they are so strong it wouldnt surprise me, but like Lauren said, you are only inhaling it into your lungs, its not like digesting the steroids.

I never heard that about Advair. I was on Advair and Birth control pills and was never told anything about that, nor have i read it in the insert that comes with the Advair. You may want to check up on that and see if there is any credibility to it.
Now i do know that antibiotics definitely do diminish the effectiveness of the Birth control pill.
