birthday party opinion

I just wanted someone elses opinion on a birthday party. My CF daughter was invited to a party that's going to be at the indoor play area at carl's jr. in a couple of weeks. I usually try to avoid going there b/c it's so gross and right now it's flu season and so far so good w/ her not getting sick. How do others feel about things like this? Do you take your kids to indoor play areas or make exceptions for birthday parties?

Thanks in advance <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Are you going to be there or do you just drop her off?
When DS was that age, he was invited to Chuck E Cheese and I was semi-comfortable leaving him with his friends because the birthday girl's mom was an RN and I KNEW there'd be lots of handwashing, hand sanitizing.

I have let DS go to a couple indoor playgrounds at BK and McD's, as well as an indoor one at the mall; however, I usually avoid crowded times and cold/flu season. I still use hand sanitizer and handi-wipes afterwards and tell DS if I catch him digging for gold up his nose we WILL be going home.

I am a little wary of those play areas at this time of year, too. However, I do let my daughter go to birthday parties anytime of year. I agree staying at the party , making sure your daughter washing her hands after playing and before eating. A friend of mine once suggested taking a bath after activites like that as well. Neb and VEST when you get home. There is one place I will not allow my daughter to go for birthday parties. It's a hotel that rents out its pool(which is a heated indoor pool next to a hot tub). The air in that room is heavy and thick; a breeding ground for bacteria. My son without CF went to a party there once and broke out in this wierd rash after, so that place is off limits.
