As the day goes on i get more and more bloated. My stomach just seems to swell. Often i look about 3 months pregnant before going to bed. I do suffer badly from constipation and the hospital keep saying its probably this but its really getting me down. Next morning though my stomach can be flat again. Does anyone else have this problem ??

Yes, exactly! The clothes I put on in the morning are not comfortable by noon, and the second set is not comfortable by dinner time! I have the option of changing clothes frequently or wearing something that is very loose to begin with. I always opt for the clothes change since I LIKE my tight jeans. Its so frustrating though.....It really does impact my body image at times. I feel fat, although I'm not (5'2, medium build, 113 lbs, very much in shape, see family photo). What I hate the most I think, is going to a party or night function, wanting to wear that tight little black dress that fit just FINE that morning and had me looking like a hot chick (at 40 haha), and end up not wearing it because I dont want someone to ask "when are you due?". Argh. Luckily my husband thinks the temp belly is adorable.... I just feel gross. Hmm, this post almost belong in the body image section.

Yes bloating here too! I never noticed any bloating till after I had my daughter. No idea if is related. I do not have constipation issues - almost the opposite. But my situation is exactly the same - I go to bed with a tummy and wake up flat. And it gets progressively worse throughout the day. I am wondering if it related to water retention. I often have to wake up to pee at night even though I do not drink much before bed. I also can lose a few lbs overnight probably due to peeing.

Side story sort of related. The last weekend in July we had my daughter's 3rd birthday as a pool party at my parent's house. Turns out I had appendicitis but did not know it yet (I was in some pain though) and was SO bloated. And I had to wear my bikini in front of everyone. I thought " gee the one time we have a pool party I am bloated". At least I found out the next day why I was so bloated and in pain... had surgery the day after that.

I have almost this same problem, and have for a couple years. For me, though, I'll go a couple days with a nice, flat stomach, and then wake up one morning to a very bloated belly, and it lasts a couple days before going away again. I've never been able to figure out what brings it on, since my diet doesn't change in relation to when this happens, nor do I ever have constipation issues. I can usually deal with it by wearing dresses, but you're all correct--it's a hit to the self esteem.

I feel so much better knowing i'm not alone in this. I'm the same as the rest of you i only weigh 8st 2 (sorry i'm English can't get use to metric system) i'm 39 so not old and often decide to wear something figure hugging for a night out but change my plans at the last minute due to tubby tummy!!! I had awful trouble trying to find something to wear for a friends wedding the other week as the dress i wanted to everyone would have asked me when it was due.

I take laxitives regularly for the constipation. probiotics, and even tried more creon as the hospital said it could be unabsorbed fat as apparently the mucus makes it stick to the intestines??

Anyway any more help would be greatly appreciated to prevent me having to wear tents for the rest of my life LOL!!!!

I have a very similar issue. I have connected it to eating (anything). If I haven't had any food for several hours, I might be unswelled but as soon as I eat, I look pregnant. Feels uncomfortable and is distressing when it comes to clothes. I have linked it to digestion but haven't found a solution yet. Looking forward to seeing if somebody knows what to do about this!

My 2 boys used to have these exact issues. After going gluten free and dairy free (other than yogurt) they no longer have any bloating.

blessings,
missa
