recently i have noticed my daughter is having a large BM very early in the morning before she is awake....is this normal??? i didnt think we were supposed to have BM's when we were sleeping. at first i thought she was waking up and then having them, but this morning she had one and was fast asleep.

Your wee one is only 13 months old. Did she not have poopy diapers before?

Until they have control & get pottied trained I would think this is normal. I never heard of not pooping while asleep. Obviously a health adult will wake up, but I think its normal at her age.

Am I just missing something???

That's usually what would wake DS up in the mornings and sometimes in the middle of the night as well. And as DH says... You eat good, you poop good!

I don't think most people will have a bowel movement without at least waking a bit.

However, I don't think it is a hard requirement. In addition, if I'm correct your little one is on a g-tube at night, which means if she gets *full* enough it will come back out.
