Hey guys,
I just wanted to finally post a message from ME personally. I have been browsing the site for a few days trying to catch up on some things, but wanted to post personally now.
I AM home now - got home late Tuesday afternoon. I am doing GREAT! I am going to appointments every few days and starting Pulmonary Rehab soon. Everything is looking spectacular according to my docs and we know things will continue to go that way.
As for some of you that may be concerned about the fires here - I did want to correct what Terri posted because it was slightly incorrect; she had accidentally misinterpretted what I said to her. The smoke is NOT that bad I have been able to see clearly, it is slightly hazy on some days though. When I spoke to her my comment was in reference to the fires that were affecting our weather last month when I was on IVs for a normal tuneup. My comment was something along the lines of yeah it is smokey but not like last month when it was so hazy it was hard to see out the windows. In fact it sounds like it is about to rain .
I will be posting some info on my blog in the future but it may take some time. We are trying to get settled into living a different lifestyle and adjusted to the new regimine of meds and new routine. It is hard to feel like you are NOT forgetting something when you don't have to do nebs anymore and you are so used to them.
As for a mini update of more "specifics" I will keep this brief for those that are interested.
My first official PFT was today and my lung function has already more then doubled what it was pre TX (I think it is about 50% now) - it may take 3 months to 1 yr for me to reach my peak. I have had half of my staples removed to date. Have no info on biopsies as of yet - though I had my first one today with my bronch. Also amazingly my blood sugars have been relatively well managed even with the prednisone. I have been off 02 since 3-4 days post TX and am mantaining sats at 99-100 at rest and 94-97 with exercise. My heartrate dropped rom 115 at rest pre TX to between 65-80 at rest now. That is all I can think of at present that seems relavent.
Thank you all so much for all the well wishes and thoughts. I loved all of the cards and notes they made my stay in hospital so much more enjoyable. I plan on keeping them all in a journal or photo album. Also sorry to those who had mail returned to them I did have difficulty with people showing up (not from this site) that were not invited or welcome and I had to have my name changed within the hospital to keep from having unexpected visitors. I did talk to them and am trying to find out how to get any mail that may show up NOW - after my discharge though.
THANK YOU again - I can NOT express enough how much all of your thoughts and well wishes have meant to all of us - myself and my family (who have checked in on the site annonymously throughout this whole ordeal). We are all very grateful and feel so blessed to have so many wonderful people thinking of us and praying for my recovery.
Thank you and please take care. I will be around but please understand if I take my time jumping back in here on the boards. We still have so much to do .
Take Care,
Lindsey
