Brown Circles Around the Eyes

I've seen a few people with cf who have big brown circles around their eyes, and if it weren't that I knew they had CF I would think they were on drugs or something! Are they caused by poor lungs or lack of oxygen, or is it due to liver problems - anyone know? Thanks

You're right, this is quite common. It's usually referred to as "allergy shiners." It's the result of increased blood flow the sinus area.

My kids always have dark circles under their eyes when they have sinus infections. That's one way I know what is wrong.

I have had dark circles under my eyes since the day I was born, but I'm sure it shows more because I have such pale skin. I am always on the search for a good concealer <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> . And they do get worse when I am sick or tired.
