My daughter just cultured this. It scared the CF crap out of me because it is in the same family as B. Cepacia. Our Pulmonologist said that it is a transient bacteria and has probably already left her body. She also said that it is very receptive to antibiotics, unlike its nasty cousin B. Cepacia.
We are out of town but will do a culture as soon as we return home next week. And if it's still there, we'll treat it with antibiotics.
Has anyone ever cultured this? How did your doc treat it? Is my doc not being aggressive enough? I'd love to hear from anyone who knows more about this. Thanks! Elise
