CCMC, Connecticut Children's, Hartford Hospital

They are amazing there, Lauren! That's where I take Emily. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> You may ask here or pm me about anything you'd like to know in particular about their ped center, which drs we like the most, etc... not sure how much detail you are looking for here. There is at least one other mom here who takes her child there- I hope she sees your post. I don't know of any adults here who go to Hartford Hospital... I'd be interested in hearing about them too since Emily will be there someday.
Emily has experience with multiple departments at the hospital as well; not just the CF center. We have been impressed with most of the doctors we've dealt with and the depts have, for the most part, worked well as a team for Emily's care. The exception to that would be the GI we saw; I did not like him at all but hopefully speaking to our cf team about it helped. [eta> There is a different choice for GI that was much nicer; there is a whole clinic for that there. It's the GI that is supposed to 'specialize' in CF that I disliked and Emily will not see him again.]

I am normally just a lurker, but I couldn't resist. We LOVE it at CCMC. We live in Western MA and have an accredited center 15mins away, but we drive 45 (without traffic) to go to CCMC. We love the care team.

Hi Jenn~ nice to see another family here who goes to our center! We also travel a ways to get there (an hour without traffic) when another center is half the distance away, but I wouldn't change it either. The care there is exceptional. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I am also in the area and travel to Boston Children's for my care, although Hartford Hosp would be much closer for me. I'd love to hear feedback from an adult who goes there (if there is anyone....?)

LOVE CCMC!!!! Although I am just a parent I have met some of the adult doctors through a Patient/Family advisory Board that I used to attend frequently. They all seem very committed.
We came from the clinic at Hasbro, and I'm so glad we switched because I know Weston is in the best hands. The staff are all very supportive and committed. I love the team.
Harriott, Jenn is on facebook as well. She is one of my friends. I will suggest you guys befriend each other.
