Hi,

I have CF and CFRD as well I weigh 115. I take Creon also but 4 with meals 3 with snacks. As everyone else stated, 1 per meal is a very low dose. Everything below is from my experience and opinion:

With diabetes in general, if your blood sugars run high and are uncontrolled you will lose weight. Couple this with CF and it compounds the problem. You didn't mention the severity of your diabetes and whether your control of it is good. To gain weight one needs to be in good health usually, i.e. no exacerbation, diabetes under control, making sure you are taking an adequate amount of medication. Non-carby fats (EVERYONE needs carbs though!!) are best for CF and CFRD weight gain; like cheese, meat, nuts, good fats, fish etc.. However these are not well digested in CF patients and having the amount of Creon that will work for you could alleviate this, if that is the problem.

Personally I would try to eat several smaller meals throughout the day with a good mix of healthy fats and carbs and also check on your level of Creon with your doctor. Working out also helps increase appetite, health, and weight in most people.

Hope this helps.
