Okay these two topics may have no connection but anyway.
I am not able to tolerate and sort of Mint like chewing gum without my eyes watering and my face going red. I just find them so hot. Also when it comes to using listerene mouthwash it says you should hold it in your mouth for like 30 seconds, i think i can hold it for about 5. Have any other cf-ers experienced this? Or am I way off target?

I have that problem. I can tolerate mint but only very very light mints. I can't eat pepper of any kind. My tongue has always seemed kind of sensitive. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but you may want to have a doc check you for thrush (a yeast infection in your mouth). It generally lives on your tongue. I had one several years ago, and it has seemed that I've only been as sensitive as I am since then (though I've always been intolerant of really strong mints or pepper).

I don't tolerare spicy foods in my mouth to well either.
Antibiotics can make your mouth sensitive even if you don't have an active thrush infection.

I'm the opposite. I thoroughly enjoy spicy food (chased with tons of milk), and mints (except altoids). The only thing I have trouble tolerating is cinnamon.

Speaking of cinnamon....how about Big Red gum, does that set your tongue on fire or what?
I can't handle it.

Do you have any ideal were I could find some legal advise. My son PJ 13 1/2 years old has Cystic Fibrosis and our insurance just changed with out notice. I need to ask some questions on Health Insurance and of course I am having a very hard time.
Thanks Barbara

Peppermints make me sneeze! Mints that are strong really burn my mouth. I agree with the comment made earlier about the mouthwash and how hard it is to handle the burning with it. Shamrock said the mouthwash comment. Hot spicy foods really burn my mouth too. I am super careful about drinking liquids that are too hot....

Mint, I love mint. i.e. Peppermint Patties. But regular peppermint candies, the ones you suck on, I can't stand those, sometimes they're way to strong. And Spicy things? I haven't had any in years. I can not tolerate getting little bits of hot peppers on my tongue. That's an ouchie moment... never thought about the anti-biotic or thrush thing though.
