CF carrier, questions for other women with a mutation

Hi all, I have been reading some of the forum and am curious about symptoms in CF carriers, and also we're waiting for a diagnosis on my newborn nephew..

He was born with meconium ileus and had surgery yesterday to clear it. He seems fine, he's off the ventilator and he'll probably be discharged soon, but we are waiting on tests to come back.

I know that I carry a CF mutation but I don't know which one. I was tested when i was pregnant with my first child. (My husband is not a carrier)

I read that as a carrier I should be asymptomatic. But I have been wondering if some of my physiology might be related to this, and I want to ask some other women if they have any of the following:

heavy mucus production in the eyes, reproductive organs, etc? I have to clean out my eyes several times a day, the gunk in them is very stringy and gross. I wear tampons when I'm not on my period just for discharge/mucus.

Sorry I don't mean to gross anyone out, but I'm just dying to know because I've often felt like my "mucus production" is abnormal but it's not something I am comfortable asking people about.

I'm a cf carrier as are my 3 sisters and husband. None of us has symptoms like yours.

I have cf and I don't have these symptoms. I did want to recommend the diva cup to you though for your discharge. I changed from tamps to this because I didn't want the chemicals from tamps leaching into my system for the 5 days a week a month I have my period. I can only imagine your chemical exposure wearing them daily. Perhaps they are causing some of your symptoms?? Have you seen an eye dr about the eye stuff? Perhaps you have an infection.
