Just curious how everyone's CF clinics operate. We go to the Adult CF Clinic at Indianapolis University (I'm guessing there are about 70 adult patients). I believe there are 2 pulmonologists, who have clinic each Monday. A nurse practitioner is the Coordinator for the clinic (she is awesome) and she holds clinic Monday & Thursday. She is also available by phone or email everyday and is great at responding. If you are hospitalized, the pulmonologist "on call" is the one who sees you. In our case, we are also seen by the infectious disease dr. in the hospital. The clinic also has a pt, rt, pharmacist, nutritionist/dietician and social worker (I think that's everyone) at our disposal. Because we deal with cepacia, we see our np every 2 months, and do spiros before we see her. I think we've only seen our dr. 2 or 3 times in the last 2 years, because we are happy with the way our np coordinates our care. Is that how it works at other clinics? Thanks.
