My daughter is starting preschool next week. Can anyone give me a link to a handout I can give to her teachers explaining CF?? I have gone over the enzymes with them but I'd like them to understand everything.

There is some great info on the CF website: Here is a link - <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cff.org/LivingWithCF/AtSchool/TeachersGuide/
">http://www.cff.org/LivingWithC...School/TeachersGuide/
</a>
You can print that out if you want. There are also some other links on that website.

I used Lisa Greene's sample letter on HappyHeartFamilies and modified it a bit to fit Emily. It's very personal and warm feeling...I think it makes the teachers feel like part of the team.

If the link doesn't work, look back in the family forum postings to early August, topic "What to INclude on the 504." The original link is posted there.

Good Luck. Emily starts kindergarten on Thursday! I'll be one teary mama for sure!

Oooh, I forgot...

CFRI (Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute) puts out a very good booklet called Cystic Fibrosis in the Classroom. It's a very handy resource and gives a good explanation of the disease and the child's needs. You can probably get this from your clinic, or directly from CFRI. Sorry I don't have teh contact info. I left my copy at school last night!
Good Luck!
