The love of my life's big 30th birthday is coming up in a week... March 9th. He has talked for YEARS about his desire to go skydiving and for some reason or another we have just never gotten around to it. We just recently moved to Arizona from Texas so we can't have a big party like we normally would back home with all our friends & family, well, cuz, we know no one here! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> So, it occurred to me that I should surprise him on the big day and go skydiving!! He would flip it out, I know, so I reallllllllllllly want to do it for him.
Here's my concern though: altitude change/dropping that fast, combined with any impact on the chest region upon landing. Note: we have flown numerous times and normally he does fine, but over the last year he has had more trouble with high altitudes and notices a tightness in his chest if we are driving in the mountains, etc. Also, he has had 2 severe bouts with hemoptysis within the last 12 months and, knock on wood, I don't want it to come back.
Just wondering if anyone with CF has skydove - skydiven - skydived - whatever, before, and if so, any negative impacts?
It's such a huge deal to be celebrating his 30th... he is a 'sicker' CF (diagnosed @ birth) and honestly never thought he would make it to this day. I just want to make it unforgettable.
Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions on this matter- I appreciate it!
