CFRD????

Could someone give me a brief description of CFRD? I heard its not like normal diabities. Do you still have the potenital for eye problems? How common is it in CFer's? Typicall age of diagonsis? ect, ect, ect.

CFRD is the same as regular diabetes, expect for that you aren't restricted in what you eat. You don't have to change your diet, you just take more insulin for what you eat. You will get all the same complications as regular diabetes if you don't take care of your diabetes. If you are diagnosed with it, you will have to get a diabetes/CF specialist, and they will explain everything for you. CFRD is common with CF'ers. I'm not sure of the number though. And the age of diagnoses varies. I got mine at 14 years of age.
