Chamber of Commerce Insurance

Does anyone, who is self employed with a child with CF, insured through their local Chamber of Commerce? We are trying to become 100% self employed, but as most of you can imagine, it is hard with a child with CF. We are hoping this may work for us and not cost us thousands of dollars each month without my (I work full time and get great benefits) benefits.

My girlfriend obtained insurance through our Chamber of Commerce & had problems. She does not have CF, but she has had various other problems. The Chamber usually switched insuranc carriers every year to keep the cost down & that made it difficult for her with her care. She ended up dropping theirs & paying for her own insurance, but knowing she will always have the same carrier (as long as she keeps paying). Just check out if the shop around every year or so for a new carrier to minimize cost & how that would affect your benefits.
