I am the mother of a five year old boy with CF. I wanted to donate money to the CF foundation, but in a different way. I am a jewelry designer and decided to make a "65 Roses" bracelet, with 100% of the profits going to the foundation. It has been very successful!!
I like the fact that I can use my talents to help raise money. I have found that people are a lot more willing to donate if they get something in return, such as a piece of jewelry, cookbook, painting, etc... I will be at the Great Strides this year, the only bad thing is that its at the end of June in Texas (very hot and humid). There are a lot of people that will not be there because of the weather, especially those with CF. Which is why creating something is a wonderful option for those who can't get out. Have your child paint a picture, draw, write anything that they enjoy. THe Christmas cards that cancer kids have designed has raised tons of money. It empowers them!!! There are so many ways to give.
My website is: DFWbeads.com
