I have started my own charity www.roses4cf.com All of the proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We do events through out the year, and then donate the proceeds at the walk each May. Our team is called "Charlotte's Angels"

I would love to have more stories to share! Send me your story and/or picture, and help us raise money for a cure! =) jsnyder@roses4cf.com

I try to raise money for Great Strides. Usually I write letters asking for donations, but now I'm trying to collaborate a cookbook full of recipes for CFers. It's actually on this forum. It's the one that says "Help Raise Research for CF! Read This Page!" So, if you wanted to help.... lol

I am the mother of a five year old boy with CF. I wanted to donate money to the CF foundation, but in a different way. I am a jewelry designer and decided to make a "65 Roses" bracelet, with 100% of the profits going to the foundation. It has been very successful!!
I like the fact that I can use my talents to help raise money. I have found that people are a lot more willing to donate if they get something in return, such as a piece of jewelry, cookbook, painting, etc... I will be at the Great Strides this year, the only bad thing is that its at the end of June in Texas (very hot and humid). There are a lot of people that will not be there because of the weather, especially those with CF. Which is why creating something is a wonderful option for those who can't get out. Have your child paint a picture, draw, write anything that they enjoy. THe Christmas cards that cancer kids have designed has raised tons of money. It empowers them!!! There are so many ways to give.

My website is: DFWbeads.com
Thanks, Sheli

I am like the above Sheli...only I am Shelly...We have a vinyl graphics business and do the ribbons for cars with "Cure CF" on them. We are working with some race cars that we letter that if they have something about CF on the car and donate a portion of their winnings to CFF, we will design and letter their race car for free or cost. My Mom and dear friend make beaded bracelets as well. People really do like to get something in return and you don't have to ask the same people everytime you do something. I also started selling AVON on the side and anything I make there will go to CFF. We do an annual garage sale with proceeds going to the GREAT STRIDES team. We also sell beanies and do a bake/craft sale in the winter at my sister's salon. Her clients are the most amazing people. Last year one of them brought in dozens and dozens of baked goods for us to sell. Another brought in a painting he painted especially for this event for a silent auction item. The bank I use to work at is trying to get the boss to let them pay to wear jeans on Fridays to donate that money to CFF. My friend who does Creative Memories donated a part of her sales one scrap booking day to CFF.

The support is there and the possibilities are endless. I never realized it until I started typing everything we do and we've only done it for a year now!

My husband is a musician and music producer. He has worked with many musicians so this year he is planning his first benefit concert and CD. Everyone he has talked to about it will be doing everything for free so ALL the proceeds for the concert and CD will go to the Foundation. I'll let you all know when the CD is released. It will have some great musicians and songs on it.

A friend of mine is in the final stages of producing 2 videos about breastfeeding. I met her when I was contacted to be part of a discussion group for the film. After meeting me and talking, she has designated a portion from the sale of each video to go to the CFF in my name. Her videos will be released this fall (2005). Check them out at: www.breastfeedingvideo.comI've also done Great Strides before. That was a lot of fun and we brought our dog to walk with us. He was a BIG hit (a retired racing greyhound).
