Chest Discomfort

Yesterday I had a bit of pain right in the center of my chest (middle of ribcage area) It wasn't too painful, and only appeared if I moved too fast. Today it's gotten worse and the pain comes if I cough hard, or move too fast, and the pain has increased a bit. I lifted weights on Monday and everything was fine, and I don't know if it was caused by that, or maybe something CF related. Any ideas?

Mucous coughed up is the same, and blood sugars are normal. No fever either.

My experience with chest pain has been related to 3 different things. In any case I think you should talk to your doctor or nurse if it persists. One time it was pneumonia which started with a little pain and got worse until it was unbearable. Pneumonia isn't necessarily extremely painful, so don't wait for that until you call your doctor. I've pulled muscles coughing, but for me, that is usually in mid to upper back or upper front, but I suppose it could happen anywhere. The 3rd was when the pleural lining was inflamed and that got better when I was done with I.V.'s, however that isn't why I started taking them. I just mentioned told my doctor about the pain when I was in the hospital. He guessed it was an inflammation of the pleural lining due to infection. He said it should resolve after the course of I.V.'s, which it did.
