Chiropractor for CF symptoms????

Does anyone see a chiropractor on a regular basis for their CF symptoms. I just took Ethan Sky to a Light Force chiropractor and call me crazy but I am seeing an improvement in his digestive symptoms. The light force, basically means he does no popping, just light manipulating. The chiropractor said he would like to see Ethan Sky every month and if he gets sick. I think we will comply, as we continue to see that it works.
Any feedback from personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I initially went to the chiropractor for an area in my back that goes out when I am congested. I found that it has helped with many things. The start of gallbladder problems, constipatioin, sinus pressure & after my first appointment with the CF clinic after starting my chiropractic care my PFTs skyrocketed. Many people dont believe in them & often the doctors keep you coming back. I am fortunate to have a great doctor who knows enough about CF to be beneficial, but not sooo much that it interferes with what I need him for.

That is encouraging to know. I have wondered the same exact thing, but didn't want to ask for fear of people thinking I was crazy for asking.
My back has bothered me off and on for years and I'm too chicken to go to the chiropractor. Having them pop my back scares me for whatever reason. I guess I would think it would hurt. Does it?

When I was pregnant with Cale I went to one for my lower back. I had some nerves or something that were bothersome and he took care of it gently. It was a feeling of relief, no pain.

We did take Cale to a chiropractor before he was diagnosed to see if he could help with the digestive issues. I kept a good journal of everything Cale was eating and letting out and there were no changes in the time he saw the chiro which was maybe once a week for a month or so. Maybe now that we know what we're dealing with they would do something different?? We've moved since then and don't have a chiro. which is funny because we have the biggest chiropractic school for miles...Palmer Chiropractic. There's a Doc on every corner!

I put off going for years because of horrer stories. My girlfriend finally convinced me, but I was petrified. My doctor wouldnt "snap" me until I relaxed. He put more heat & massage on me to get me to loosen up. The more relaxed you are the easier it is for the doctor to do his thing. The intial snap gets your attention, but its a good feeling. Like a good pain if you know what I mean.

I'm no Chiropracter (of course), but I think their methods are very similar to ones used in Japan and China.
It is the stimulation of pressure points, and nerves, all of which would affect internal organs. (In some cases, manipulation of joints and ligaments-such as for back pain)
I saw a map of the foot one time in Japanese, where the certain areas had pressure points affecting the internal organs from there.
I'm not surprised that Chiropractic Therapy helps, but sometimes the proper diet and supplements are also necessary. Supplements would include the enzymes used for digestion. The Therapy alone won't do it, it is only as an aid.
Chinese Medicine theory is simple, they give medicine that would stimulate the body to defend itself against illness. Some Western Medicines are designed to do it all for the body, but never gives the body a chance to repair itself.
I used to visit a doctor similar to a Chiropracter, as well. It's very helpful, but if the cause can be eliminated, the need for a Chiropracter can be decreased.
In some cases, I can relieve some strains, myself, using a Japanese technique of "Shiatsu". My wife is also pretty good at Shiatsu.

Some chiropractors use an "activator" is it like a tiny handheld jackhammer. They set it to the right pressure and then pop it where needed. It ends up feeling like being thumped and isn't scary. Having your body swisted and cracked is, but that is rarely actually necessary. The spine moves with minimal pressure. Mostly you need velocity and correct angling. The activator allows them to be more accurate and discriminate with both. If the area adjusted was very far out of alignment or had been out a long time, you might feel sore the next day like from exercising.I have had relief from sinus infections after chiropractic adjustment. Sciatic pain relief as well. If you are going for a child, make sure you find a chiropractor who is trained in treating children. Their anatomy is not the same as an adults and it can make a difference. Not only this, but their size requires different technique as well.

I LOVE the chiropractor. I started going after I got minor whiplash in a fender bender, and actually saw an improvement in my PFTs that couldn't be explained by anything else, I have less tummy problems, and I just feel better all around.
