Heyz all, I dont understand how this is happening but everytime i take cipro I develop fever. Last time there was a big confusion bec the doc simply couldnt believe that the cipro is causing me a low grade fever and I got hospitalized. It wasnt the case in the past, but now its becoming directly proportional. I dunno how does that happen so any experiences with that.

My daughter was put on zosyn an iv antibiotic and she developed a high fever after 3 days she can not take it anymore they consider her to be allergic to it.is there anything else you can take.i would say you have an allergy to this medicine, not sure why.

It sounds like you're just a little sensitive to the Cipro.

Two years ago, I tested positive for 2 rare strands of microbacterium (thanks to the crappy basement apartment I was in...ewwwww). I was put on a really agressive course of 3 antibiotics. Rifampin gave me fevers every day I took it, almost an hour later to the dot! It gave me horrrible joint pains and chills, not to mention turning my pee bright orange! The fevers were so uncomfortable, even though they never got above 101, that I wouldn't be able to do anything but lay in bed or sit in the bath tub until it broke. I spoke to the docs and they told me to just take some asprin or ibpruphen when I took the meds and try taking them before I went to sleep so it wouldn't interfear with my day.
Well, it helped some, but I still woke up alot in the night feeling crappy. The problem was that it was more important to knock out the bacteria, so I had to just deal with it for about 14 months! But it worked, and I do feel better.

When do they give you Cipro? Is it for pseudomonus? There are a few other antibiotics that are effective at treating pseudo. Ask your doc what other meds your strains are sensitive to (they check it when you give a sputem culture) and say you'd like to try something else next time. When I'm prescribed orals I usually get augmentin, and I take zithromyecin 3x a week therapudically.
