As some of you may remember I have been considering of switching and on the femnce about my dre. she really made me mad last time and I felt like I got blown off on alot of things!!!

Today dh and I walked and set the pace of the appointment. we told them he is on the goats milk and are not switching... I wanted copies of all the records and labs... I wanted to see about a vest and they need to figure out a proper sized mask for him for nebs... I also told them to give another rubber beater thing and to teach me how to do it by hand.. They almost forgot to measure his chest for the vest so I reminded them kindly and we held our ground, in which he can get one and its ordered... boy did they listen and do everything i asked...on top of that gave me more neb canisters ordered the right masks for him and gave me the one they had. they gave me a big cf book, and treated me and dh with the utmost respect this time.....

Needless to say he is great.. 14lbs, 10 oz... 25 inches long... He did have to have a hemoglobin test and we are to start giving him salt everyday now... They did tell me to start him on food at 4 months.. crazy but then made sure that I knew that the main food is still his milk.

That is great news! I am so happy to hear that all is well and that things are going much better. It sounds like you did a great job at getting them to understand that you are proactive in his care

I still am amazed when I hear that such little ones can get a vest! That's great! I was told my girls were too little until they were about four years old... I guess things have changed in the vest sizes in the past 5 years or so

Sounds like all is going well!

Good for you. Sounds like things are going well and that maybe you're developing more a rapport with your medical team. I know when we first started dealing with our local clinic, they were used to dealing with young parents, not older people like ourselves. So I felt they were talking down to me, not listening to us. Think we cleared the air a few times and have finally come to an understanding with them.

I always right down a list of questions, things we want to talk about. I keep the list in my computer along with his meds list and will add to my questions if things come up between appointments. Then prior to the appointment DH and I discuss anything we'd like to talk about and for DS' last appointment we asked if there was anything he wanted to discuss. His question was why he had to take yucky orange medicine, so he got almost all his meds switched from suspensions to pills because he's been swallowing his enzymes whole since he was at least 3.

Congrats and way to stand your ground. Sometimes I just think that they probably have so much to deal with that they don't realize that us as parents also have so much to deal with.

I bet going forward they will know that you mean business.......
