Okay, so I'm 26 yrs old and I work in a professional office atmosphere. I'm 5'1 and way between 90 and 95 lbs. Too skinny I know, I'm a work in progress. The problem is finding clothes that fit and don't make me look like a little kid playing dress up in the big girls clothes. I've even written Oprah about this problem, does anyone have any suggestions/brand names they find tend to run on the small size? I've tried the childrens section and for jeans sometimes I get lucky, but it's hard to find a pair of girl trousers/or a skirt in a child size, unless you want a butterfly on them...spare me. and if I put a belt on the things it's like the belt just ways them down and they fall down quicker. I literally walk home counting the steps and wondering if I will make it home before I moon all of the greater Sacramento area. I know it's a minor problem in the scheme of things, but still frusterating. Let me know if you have suggestions.......

Hey, well i am 16 yrs old and i weigh 103 pounds. I wear juniors clothing....usually size 0 or 1. I find that LEI is a great brand for pants. I also found out that Abercrombie and Fitch make smaller sizes as well...00! So i know they may be a bit more expensive but they are really good brands and they last forever! Well at Khols and Mervyns they have a lot of Junior work outfits..so they should have your size there and i think that they have a lot to choose from...although they may be lower waisted...but at least they could fit you! lol. I usually wear lower waisted clothes anyway so its no biggie to me! If you want to ask me sum more...just email me or sumthing..k!

Honestly I'm from Canada and I dont know what kind of stores you have where you are... Umm here we have a place called Dynamite and they have dress clothes. I'm 103lbs but that will change tomorrow morning... So I understand the whole weight thing. Ummmm also we have a place here called sirens or stiches they are cheep clothes but they have tiny stuff. Dress pants and little suits and stuff it doesnt look like much on the outside but really check it out if you have it. Other than that I personally learned how to sew so that I could bring my pants in because they never fit!!!!

OH I sympathize with U......if I find stuff that fits I am not willing to spend the fortune for it. Or at least not on a regular basis. I do mine thru trial & error. I have gone to petites which helps a great deal, but dress pants are always "cut" big so even petites dont fit the way we want them to at times. I dont have any real stores or brands to help U with. U talked about contacting Oprah, I had put up a post about contacting the show "What not to wear" & give then a challenge of dressing a CFer who not only has limited funds, but different body/health issues that need to be address. Just a few I can think of is a barrell chest (or at least larger in proportion to the bottom half). Ultra thin build (sounds like a maxi pad ha ha), room to cough, but not so much that we are always adjusting the pants. Stain resistant (for those that have occaisional accidents from coughing &/or farting. I dont think the hosts of the show are up for the challenge!

Have you tried clothing stores that Oriental gals would shop at? I bet they have hip clothes in addition to their satiny type traditional clothing and the clothing s/b smaller in size. Hey, maybe Fred could send you some stuff! lol
Good Luck!

Hudson Jeans and True Religion jeans run small- if you get a size 24 (smallest size) they might fit you. I know this because I love clothes, and last summer/fall when I dropped to 93 pounds at 5'2", I was upset because none of my clothes fit. Theory makes clothes in Size 00, which fit me at that point, sometimes were even too small! Hope has a good point about the Asian girl thing- they are so tiny! Pants are obviously the most difficult thing. you can find all this stuff on shopbop.com.

For like higher end professional outfits, I would try Ann Taylor petites. They have a separate Petites store and catalogue, and it carries all the clothese they do in regular sizes.

though sometimes I wish I had your problem...

Debbie:
I know how you feel. I am around the same size....4'11...102 pounds. I am a college senior and am getting ready to go on job interviews and had nothing to wear. When I put a suit on I looked like I was wearing my Mother's suit. Horrible. But I found this store. Its called Mexx and Its a European store. It has moved over to America recently and then have extremely small sizes. I was actually between a size 2 and 4 in some of their suits. I actually ended up getting two suits from there and they have all types of nice blouses and skirts as well. I think you should look into it because I think you will have a lot of luck there. The suits are very nicely made, they pay for alterations, and they are stylish as well. Give it a try.
