Has anyone out there had any reproductive issues with the use of Colistin? My husband just started it for the first time in August, then October then December and has been off now since then. His testosterone levels are coming back nearly non existent, and lower every month since September (they have been at, or above normal before this point). I pulled out the manufactures leaflet included in the box, and it said NO studies have been done to determine if there is reproductive harm in association with it's use. I also asked my husband's CF doctor today at our appointment and he looked it up. He looked up some information online and said that "there have been no official studies which have been able to determine if there is damage or not. Basically, the results are either inconclusive or there is reproductive damage that needs further assessment first". I will have to look into this further for you, (is what he said). What it the crap is this. My husband already doesn't have a Vas Defrens, and we WERE scheduled for IVF with ICSI this month but we had to reschedule it for the lack of testosterone levels. Ok, there's the venting part. But I am really curious about other males, or even females out there with abnormal labs AFTER colistin use (such as Testosterone in Males, FSH, LH, TSH in males and females) that were normal before.
Anything would be appreciated!
