Colistin

Anyone's insurance refuse to cover colistin? So far mine has denied it. My doctor's office is currently contacting my doctor. Hopefully this works out.

I have never had colistin, but my insurance has paid for all my meds so far (pulmozyme, tobi, ultrase MT12, albuterol, etc.). Hopefully, by your doctor contacting them, they will change their minds. Sometimes, unfortunatley, you have to fight with them a little bit. Good luck, I hope you can get it paid for.

Yes, we did. As it was explained to me. Colistin is typically an IV drug, so it's CF specific use is not typical.
The CF clinic called the insurance and cleared things up for us.
