Cough

My little girl is 3 and a half year old and for the last week has had a cough. We've put her on her back up antibiotic - she's been on it now for four days and her cough is still there. I know it's early days, and she's got another ten days to take her med, but I am really worrying! The cough isn't that bad, she probably only coughs about eight times a day and she is eating well.Any advice to calm me down?!<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

Maybe she needs a different antibiotic for whatever is causing her cough. Maybe just for piece of mind give the clinic a call. DS once had a junky sounding cough, but I thought he'd be okay since he was on tobi, zithromax and keflex at the time. Turned out he needed a little something extra. His cough was pretty much gone after a couple days.

It could be post nasal drip &/or allergies. Has she ever had allergy problems before? Has the weather or anything else changed that might be irritating things?

I wouldnt necessarily keep giving her antibiotics especially if you dont see a difference after 5 days. I would check into allergies even if its seasonal & not chronic.
