Anyone ever hear of getting a bad reaction to a generic, but not a brand name med?
I began Ceftin monday. I always get the generic ceftin, cefuroxime A34, and I never have any bad side effects.
This time however, I got a new and different generic ceftin-lupin 303. I didn't even notice the difference in generic brand until I noticed that the normal horrible after taste of this medicine wasn't there. But the next morning I woke up with horrific diahrrea and stomach pain, and body aches. I thought perhaps an error was made and called the pharmacists-she confirmed what I had was indeed generic ceftin, just another type of generic I haven't had in the past. I said ok and figured I was getting a bad virus.
Thing is, the diahrrea and stomach upset isn't going away. Ceftin never gives me diahrrea, unless its IVs and I've been on them for like weeks.
So we're having to play investigator here-do I actually have some kind of gi virus OR could there really be a difference in the 2 generics and I'm having a reaction to this new one? Is that even possible? Anyone ever hear of it?
Please reply-I'm waiting to hear from the doc soon hopefully!

fyi-Its not enzymes. I've been keeping extra careful attention and haven't missed any.
