could it be cdiff?

Grant has been on amoxicillin for four days due to an ear infection. Today I noticed that his stool had mucous and a really really bad odor. Could he get cdiff this quickly and from amoxicillin? I'm calling his doc in the morning and will take a sample to be tested. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.............. he's had a rough week

Diego has had c. diff twice. In my experience the way I knew was that it basically turned in to crazy diarrea...super loose, super frequent orange colored and a very distinct weird smell. There was some mucus in it, but all of the stool was completely loose and grainy and that weird color. I don't think amoxicillin would cause c.diff as it is not that strong of an antibiotic, and he's only been on for 4 days...but i guess it is possible. Diego got his in the hospital hooked up to iv of tobra and fortaz.

best of luck, and hope your lil one doesn't have it...cuz it is a pain.
