CPMC or Stanford?

Anyone go to either of these clinics/hospitals? I'm wondering more because I recently moved to downtown San Francisco. Just curious, I guess. Thanks!

Hi, Where is CPMC? I can guess the MC part. Anyhow... Anna (my daughter) says to tell you Stanford. We have relocated here for Anna to be listed on their transplant list. She received her double lung tx on July 25, by the way.

The care she received at the CF center at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital (they have adult clinic days in the children's hospital clinic which is across the street from the children's hospital which is adjacent to Stanford) was great! We liked all the doctors, nurses, RT's, coordinator, receptionists, everyone was great. Sometimes it took a little bit for them to return a call after leaving a message, but it really wasn't very long. We both were extremely happy with her care and their extreme patience and understanding and how smoothly our transition was to their clinic even though they all knew we were only here long enough for her to receive her transplant. We liked them all immediately. If we had to live here we would definantly stay with the LPCH CF clinic.

Hope this helps you in making your decision.

Stanford, Stanford, Stanford!!!

Although I hear that UCSF has a great CF Center as well, I have no personal experience with them. I too am not sure what CPMC is.

I have been to a few CF clinics in the N. CA area and I'm desperately trying to find work and relocate just so I can go back to Stanford; that's how much I love them. I began there at diagnosis at age 11, transitioned to their adult program smoothly, and left when I was in my mid-20s. Can't wait to go back!! Even their inpatient care is superior in my view.

I'm getting close to transplant time and if I have to do it, it has to be at Stanford. Period.

Good Luck!!
