CPT for Toddlers

Just curious what all of you do for CPT on your toddlers. Do you put them in any head down positions? Have you always done so? If no, at what age did you start? We were told at DS birth not to do any head down positions, basically keep him flat or upright. Because this is our 3rd different clinic I am wondering if somehow we missed getting told to put him head down or if the way we are doing it is alright. He is almost 22 months and did have reflux pretty bad as an infant. He goes to clinic in April so I will ask then, but I am just curious what everyone else does. Thanks.

Our daughter is 13, but when she was a toddler we put her in the down positions. We did it from the time she was an infant. She also had pretty bad reflux, so I didn't do treatments right after feedings.

When my parents did CPT on me when I was an infant / toddler we did a few head down positions. I would say if the reflux doesn't act up to do some. I never had problems with reflux and maybe things have changed.

The times I did therapy right after dx I was head down. We even obtained this board to lay on that could be adjusted to different angles. Always in the hospital except last year when I was having airway issues. Tilting me closed me up more so that couldnt be done. Other than that yes....it helps drain the lobes so I recommend it unless there is another reason like reflux.

The RTs all showed us head down and all the different positions, but DS's doctor said, it's really kinda silly 'cuz the CPT gets stuff moving up and out, so it doesn't matter if we've got DS standing on his head or now. Liza
