"crackling noise" on chest

Hi,
can any of you guys hear a crackling noise when you breath in when your lying in bed (or any time when its dead quiet) I had this for a while once before and it cleared up when i was put on some meds and pysdemonus treatment. now its come back and i cant seem to get rid of it this time. is this common??

"crackling noise

THis is very common and indicates that you have some plugs/mucous that are stuck making the air moving around them cause that crackling sound. I usually get them when I have having a flareup. Once I am cleared up I am good for quite awhile before having that sound again.

I usually get that after I do my evening treatment and then go right to bed after wards. Ill hear the crackling sound and Ill clear my lungs or do a little cough to move the mucous and then its gone I do that a few times and then it doesnt come back. I dont think i get every night after treatments but Im sure it happen in the morning treatments too, I just dont notice cause Im up and moving around.

sometimes the wheezing can just be inflammation. if you suffer from allergies or asthma on top of CF (very underdiagnosed), inflammed airways make those noises.

I get the wheezing sometimes. It's soooo frustrating.

What do you do for PT? Using the vest or exericising should help clear the airways too.

I have crackling a lot but it usually means that there is some mucous in my lungs that needs to be coughed up. Try using the flutter or an acapello to clear out the mucous. They work really great for me! If you don't have one, get one!
